How long does the process take from sourcing to hiring?

In general, the end-to-end process takes about 6 weeks. While the overall timeline is dependent on multiple factors, here is a general outline we anticipate after the initial consultation is complete and we receive the sourcing fee/signed agreement.

  • Week 1: Officially list job posting and socialize to our internal network.
  • Weeks 2-3: Review applicants, conduct screening interviews and narrow down applicants to top candidates.
  • Weeks 4-5: Schedule final round interviews for families and top candidates. Draft nanny contracts/offers of employment and conduct background check.
  • Week 6: Extend an offer of employment on behalf of the family and facilitate contract signing.
What costs do the Families incur?

To begin the search, there is a one-time $200 sourcing fee due when signing the sourcing agreement. This allows us to start curating and screening candidates tailored to your family’s needs. Once you’ve selected your nanny a $1,000 referral fee is due upon offer of employment.

These fees cover the time, care, and expertise that go into matching your family with trusted, thoroughly vetted candidates — ensuring the process feels smooth, personal, and supported from start to finish.

How are candidates vetted?

At Our Village Nanny Agency, every candidate goes through a careful and comprehensive screening process designed to give families peace of mind. We conduct background checks, validate references and education, and complete detailed screening interviews to ensure each nanny is professional, experienced, and aligned with your family’s values.

Our goal is to recommend only those caregivers we’d feel confident welcoming into our own homes — because trust, safety, and genuine care are at the heart of what we do.
